'Maths Day' in Year 5!

 Each class has enjoyed a range of Maths workshops organised by the Year 5 staff: 

Greek Numbers workshop with Mrs Hansen

"I learnt to count from 1-10 in Greek." - Olivia

Budgeting workshop with Miss Pilling

"We learnt how we needed to use so many Maths skills to plan a holiday!" - Archie

"Keeping to a budget was really difficult!" - Oscar 

"I learnt how to use decimals accurately when calculating with money." - Hussain

 

 

Building Bridges by exploring measures and the shapes of structures with Miss White

"I found out that if I used a triangle shape for the structure of a bridge was much stronger than a square because when the square falls, it turns into a rhombus shape which isn't very strong whereas a triangular shape always stays the same!" - James

"In our Maths Day we had to problem solve as a group by working together and sharing ideas." - Aisha
