Connecting Classrooms: Nepal
LJS have been granted funding by the British Council to participate in a Connecting Classrooms project which allows us to partner a school in Nepal. The project encourages pupils and teachers to develop their global awareness and draw comparisons between the experiences pupils have living in the UK and Nepal. Over the course of the year, each class will have the opportunity to communicate directly with a class in Nepal and work on a range of collaborative projects. In February 2020, teaching staff from LJS will visit Nepal and in June 2020 we will welcome members of the Nepalese staff back here to Gloucester.
Our partner school is ACE School in Kathmandu. More information about their school can be found at aceschool.edu.np. Our previous partner, NIST school can be seen here. We are still in touch with this school and hope to visit it in February in addition to ACE school.
Thank you to all the pupils who contributed their amazing designs for the Connecting Classrooms Logo competition- after careful deliberation the following designs have been selected to progress to the next stage. Congratulations to those pupils! They will be judged alongside entries from the other Gloucester and Nepalese schools- hopefully we will hear before Christmas whether one of ours has been chosen as the final logo!
